About the Sintra & Cascais Tour
This is the day most visitors to Lisbon want: Sintra’s palaces in the hills, Cabo da Roca on the Atlantic cliffs, and the seaside towns of Cascais and Estoril, joined together by one of the most beautiful coast roads in Portugal.
Your driver handles Sintra’s steep, narrow roads and the parking, and waits while you explore, so the day runs at your pace. The price is for the whole car, not per person.
How the day runs
-
Collected in Lisbon
From your hotel or any address in Lisbon, or at Lisbon Airport, at the time you choose.
-
Sintra, in the morning
About 45 minutes from Lisbon. Pena Palace, or another palace of your choice, and the lanes of the historic centre.
-
Cabo da Roca
The cliffs and lighthouse at the westernmost point of mainland Europe, high above the Atlantic.
-
The Guincho coast road
Down past the dunes and the wild surf beach of Guincho, with the ocean beside you.
-
Cascais and Estoril
The old town, the bay and the Santa Marta lighthouse in Cascais, then the casino gardens and seafront of Estoril.
-
Back to Lisbon along the coast
Your driver brings you back to your hotel, or wherever you would like to finish.

- Your own car and driver for the whole day
- Pickup anywhere in Lisbon city or at Lisbon Airport

Good to know

- Sintra and the coast in one day means one palace inside. Want more time among the palaces? Ask us about our Sintra Full-Day Tour.
- Cabo da Roca is often windy, and Sintra cooler than Lisbon — bring a layer, and wear comfortable shoes for the hills and cobbles.

Why this tour
Why choose the Sintra & Cascais Tour?
Because it puts the best of the Lisbon coast into one day — Sintra’s palaces in the hills, then the Atlantic from Cabo da Roca down to Cascais. With your own car and driver it is one easy loop, where by train and bus it would take a lot of changes and waiting.
-
Morning · In the hills
Sintra
A town of palaces, gardens and forest in the hills, about 45 minutes from Lisbon.
- Pena Palace, yellow and red on its hilltop
- The historic centre and the National Palace’s two white chimneys
- Part of the Cultural Landscape of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995
-
Afternoon · On the Atlantic
The coast
Cliffs, surf beaches and seaside towns along the western edge of Portugal.
- Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe
- The dunes and wild surf beach of Guincho
- Cascais’s old town, bay and lighthouse, then Estoril
What makes it a great day out
-
Palaces and the ocean
Forest and fairytale palaces in the morning, cliffs and beaches in the afternoon. Two very different sides of Portugal in one day.
-
The edge of Europe
Stand at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, with nothing but the Atlantic in front of you.
-
A beautiful coast road
From Cabo da Roca down past Guincho to Cascais, then back to Lisbon along the sea. The drive is part of the day, not time lost.
-
No trains, buses or parking
Sintra’s hill roads are steep and narrow, and parking is hard to find. Your driver gets you close and waits for you, then takes you straight on.
-
Your pace, all day
Eight hours with your own car. More time in Sintra or longer by the sea — the only fixed point is your Pena ticket time.
-
One price for the whole car
The fare is per car, not per person. Split between a full 7-seater, it comes to about €56 each.

Questions
Sintra & Cascais Tour — your questions
Short answers to what guests ask most before they book. If yours is not here, message us — a real person answers.
Still have a question?
Send us a message on WhatsApp and we will help you plan your day in Sintra and on the coast.
WhatsApp us +351 9283 06989Can you pick us up from the airport or a cruise ship?
YesFrom your hotel or any address in Lisbon, from Lisbon Airport, or from the cruise terminal.
This is a full eight-hour day, so it suits a long port call. Tell us your ship and your all-aboard time when you book, and we will plan the day so you are back at the terminal in good time.
How many palaces can we visit?
Most guests go inside one palace — usually Pena Palace — and see the rest of Sintra from the outside and the old town.
This day also covers Cabo da Roca, Cascais and Estoril, so there is not time for several palaces. If the palaces matter most to you, ask us about our Sintra Full-Day Tour.
Are tickets and lunch included?
NoPalace tickets and lunch are paid by you, so you only pay for what you choose.
Pena Palace can only be visited with a ticket for a set date and time, so book it on the Parques de Sintra website before the day and tell us your slot. Cabo da Roca, the Guincho coast and the Cascais seafront cost nothing.
Is Cabo da Roca really the end of Europe?
YesIt is the westernmost point of mainland Europe, on cliffs high above the Atlantic.
There is a lighthouse and a stone monument at the top. It is often windy, so bring a layer even on a warm day.
Can we change the order or the time at each stop?
YesThe day is yours to shape, within the eight hours.
Longer in Sintra and a quick look at Cascais, or the other way round — tell your driver and they will plan around it. Your Pena ticket time is the one fixed point.
What if my flight is late?
Waiting is free for the first 60 minutes after your flight lands. After that it is €10 for every 30 minutes.
Give us your flight number when you book, so your driver can follow your actual landing time. If you have a timed Pena ticket, leave enough margin after landing.
Is there a wheelchair-accessible option?
NoWe do not have wheelchair-accessible vehicles with a ramp or lift, so we cannot offer this tour to guests who need to stay in their wheelchair.
Sintra’s palaces and old town are also steep, with many steps and cobbles. We would rather tell you now than on the day.
Can I cancel, and can I book at short notice?
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup. Late bookings are welcome whenever a car is free.
A booking made less than 24 hours before pickup cannot be refunded.
