About the Óbidos & Nazaré Tour
Óbidos and Nazaré sit on Portugal’s Silver Coast, north of Lisbon. This day brings them together: Óbidos, a medieval town inside its castle walls, and Nazaré, a fishing town known for the giant waves off its northern beach, with lunch by the sea in between.
Your driver handles the motorway and the parking, and waits while you explore, so the day runs at your pace. The price is for the whole car, not per person.

Óbidos, in the morning
About an hour north. Walk the main street and the white lanes inside the walls, and try ginjinha, the local cherry liqueur.

On to Nazaré for lunch
A short drive up the coast. Your driver will point you to somewhere good for fresh fish near the beach.

The Sítio and the northern beach
Up to the clifftop viewpoint above the town, then out to the lighthouse fort that looks over Praia do Norte, where the big winter waves break.

Back to Lisbon
Your driver brings you back to your hotel, or wherever you would like to finish.

- The giant waves are a winter sight, and they depend on the swell. Outside those days, Nazaré is a calm beach town with a spectacular view.

This is a nine-hour day, so it only suits a long port call. Tell us your ship and your all-aboard time when you book, and we will tell you honestly whether the day fits.
How long is the drive?
About an hour from Lisbon to Óbidos, a short drive on to Nazaré, and around an hour and a half back to Lisbon.
Times depend on traffic. The drive is part of your nine hours, which still leaves most of the day for the two towns.
Will we see the giant waves?
Only on the right day. The giant waves come in winter, when a big Atlantic swell arrives — nobody can promise them.
On other days Nazaré is a calm beach town, and the view from the clifftop and the lighthouse fort is still spectacular.
Are lunch and entrance fees included?
NoLunch and any entrance fees are paid by you, so you only pay for what you choose.
Walking the lanes and walls of Óbidos and the viewpoints in Nazaré costs nothing. Your driver will point you to somewhere good for fresh fish by the sea.
Can we add Fátima?
Yes — take the ViaFátima Grand Circuit instead. It visits Óbidos, Nazaré and the Sanctuary of Fátima in one day.

What if my flight is late?
Waiting is free for the first 60 minutes after your flight lands. After that it is €10 for every 30 minutes.
Give us your flight number when you book, so your driver can follow your actual landing time.
Is there a wheelchair-accessible option?
NoWe do not have wheelchair-accessible vehicles with a ramp or lift, so we cannot offer this tour to guests who need to stay in their wheelchair.
Óbidos is also steep and cobbled, and its walls have no railings. We would rather tell you now than on the day.
Can I cancel, and can I book at short notice?
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup. Late bookings are welcome whenever a car is free.
A booking made less than 24 hours before pickup cannot be refunded.
